Want: Supreme x RIMOWA Suitcase

RIMOWA X SUPREME 1The internet almost broke in 2017 when Supreme, the mega-hyped New York streetwear brand, launched a collaboration with luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton. All of the sudden, the characteristic red/white logo, first appropriated by Supreme from the American artist Barbara Kruger and since applied to everything from skateboards to sweatshirts, was available in high-quality merchandise of French luxury fashion, most significantly with the offering of handbags for both men and women. Kim Kardashian flipped out, as did we. The collectormania that has surrounded Supreme since their earliest days was catapulted into extremity (spawning articles like this one). While the mastermind behind this crossing of worlds, LV Head of Menswear Kim Jones, have since gone to greener pastures, Ebay is still on fire with speculative trading a year later, with wallets and bags going for several thousand dollars. It would appear that the world never seems to tire from skate-infused merchandise.

Supreme itself, meanwhile, is known to never rest on their laurels (the brand enjoyed a heavy investment injection by private equity firm The Carlyle Group back in October), and have most recently partnered with RIMOWA for their ever-growing selection of branded goods. A part of LV’s conglomerate LVMH, RIMOWA is known as the premium supplier of luggage, their aluminum and polycarbonate suitcases being an absolute must for the global traveler of today. The German company has worked with Supreme on custom versions of the Topas Multiwheel suitcases in both a carry-on and larger size, and will be available in Red and Black. So if for some reason you find that this is the time to start participating in Supreme’s venture into luxury, this is your shot. Get in line!

The cabin size will be available in selected RIMOWA stores from Saturday, April 14th 2018, including RIMOWA London on New Bond St and also on 24 Sevres https://www.24sevres.com. Both sizes will be available in Supreme stores in London, NY, Brooklyn, LA, Paris and online from April 12th. Available in Japan on April 14th
