We admit it, we were a little late to the whole collecting sneakers thing – we spent a great deal of our youth trying to escape everything remotely connected to sports and its anxiety-inducing facilities. But now that sneakers well have left the gym, we’re enthusiastic to buy them, collect them, hunt them down – a booming tendency across the world, especially amongst young men. This week, it’s a local favorite that is on our list: iconic sportswear brand hummel has teamed up with Denmark’s biggest sneakers collector and patron Joachim “Seveninch” Friis for a highly limited edition of the classic DHB in buttery soft leather. The DHB model first designed for the German Handball Federation in 1976 – its relevance today proves the test of time. The hummel x Seveninch DHB is strictly limited to 250 pairs worldwide and will be available from 23rd February from various global retailers – Hanon (UK), STØY (Denmark), Overkill (Germany), MITA (Japan), and Black Rainbow (France). And don’t worry, you don’t have to have play handball to wear them proudly at the next fashion week.
