Believe it or not, but there are days when our mandatory handbag – Hermès, LV – just simply won’t do it. As much as we like to channel Carrie Bradshaw jotting through the city for an 11am coffee meeting, life tends to be a little more demanding than that, both physically and environmentally. Where are the bags for biking in the rain on a January afternoon, for bring your old-ass HP laptop to the office job that won’t pay for a desktop Macbook, and for all of those lunches, coffees and park chill sessions where bringing a Birkin feels just a little too excessive? Well, the answer is, surprisingly, Dior. The historic French brand known for great luxury ready-to-wear and even better couture, have crafted a wonderful little bag that feels as sturdy and practical as it is elegant. The name for this messenger-bag type item is no other than DiorCamp, and was first introduced by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri in her cruise 2019 show. A true reflection of Dior savoir-faire, each bag requires several hours of work and more than a million embroidery stitches. Since its very successful arrival in Dior’s family of accessories, a new range of colors have been added for the SS19 season – and personally, we’re going for olive green. Up on the bike you go!
