The world might still be waiting with baited breath to discover Riccardo Tisci’s next career move but the man himself has been keeping busy.
As part of the thirty years anniversary of the Nike Air Max, three designers were invited to reimagine different versions of the iconic sneaker: product designer Marc Newson, architect Arthur Huang and finally Tisci, representing the world of fashion. Newson’s take on Air Vapormax is a velcro-strapped knitted sockliner encased in a leather frame whilst Huang’s Max 1 Ultra is entirely recycled (and one of the lightest shoes every made by Nike). Tisci meanwhile reinvents the Air Max 97 in hi-tech synthetic leather and suede with a zip pocket in the tongue. Something to wear on his first day in the new job maybe (wherever that might be…)
